Reflex VMC provides global alarms throughout the product interface as well as automatic notifications to keep users abreast of changes, events, issues or any specific information within the virtualized data center. Reflex VMC alarms and alert features include:
By simply selecting an alarm trigger instance, you can immediately see the entire history of the alarm from when it was triggered, when it was assigned to someone for resolution, and when the alarm went back to a normal state. There is no need to click around on separate screens within multiple drop-down boxes to decipher what caused the alarm in the first place; the Reflex VMC provides a clear concise definition of the alarm.
Alarms can go off for many reasons and often it is useful to increase the signal to noise ratio between events and alarms. To improve the fidelity of alarms produced by the virtualization infrastructure the Reflex VMC offers the ability to correlate multiple alarms together so that the administrator only gets high level alarms when there are certain performance problems within their environment using the VQL query below.
Once alarm triggers and notification requests are set up, Reflex VMC will provide immediate email alerts for designated events or changes that occur. An example of the flexibility of alerts and automated notifications that can provide great value in managing critical events within the virtual infrastructure can be seen in the following image.
When alarms go off sometimes it is sometimes useful to accumulate as much information about the alarm as possible. The Reflex VMC offers a full scripting interface to collect any type of data about the environment. The scripting interface also offers out-of-the-box scripts which can accumulate and format graphs and tables. The image below is an E-Mail that was sent to a user when a performance alarm occured and includes a CSV file attachment of the source data.
