Cisco Nexus 1000V

A Cisco Nexus 1000V Series Switch is an intelligent software switch that integrates directly into the VMware vSphere 4 hypervisor. Designed with an understanding that the network plays a central role in any viable data center virtualization strategy, the Cisco Nexus 1000V switch takes advantage of the VMware vSphere vNetwork Distributed Switch framework to offer tightly integrated network services as part of both a server virtualization strategy and a broader data center virtualization strategy.

Developed in close collaboration with VMware, the Cisco Nexus 1000V Series is certified by VMware to be compatible with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESX, and ESXi, and with many other vSphere features.
